For a taste of old European cuisine, head to the Pfeifer House, which is located on the road to Alpine Meadows and is a popular option with the locals as well as the tourists. By road: From Tahoe City, you can head west on SR89 for 3 miles and turn onto the Alpine Meadows road. Another option through Truckee is to take highway 89 south for 13 miles till you reach the access road to Alpine Meadows.

By air: Reno-Tahoe International Airport has more than 100 nonstop flights a day from various parts of the country. The airport is 50 miles from Alpine Meadows.
